Dr. Perets is committed to staying on the forefront of advancements in dentistry that improve the level of care we provide to our patients. Dental technology plays a big role in your treatment, and we rely on it daily to make procedures more efficient, comfortable, and productive.
At Complete Dental Care, we put a lot of thought into choosing technology that allows us to provide the highest quality dental care possible. Please take a few minutes to check out some of our technology tools, then give us a call at (605) 371-3000 or use or contact us form to schedule your next dental appointment.
Same Day Crowns
At Complete Dental Care, we offer hassle-free, same-day CEREC crowns. This means that you get to have your permanent crown done in one appointment - no need for temporary crowns or multiple visits! Crowns are used when teeth are too decayed or damaged for dental fillings. They can also be used to repair and strengthen cracked or painful teeth. A dental crown restores a tooth to its original color and shape, with the end result looking like the rest of your natural teeth. You can hardly tell it's there!
Taking periodic dental x-rays is an invaluable part of the care we provide at Complete Dental Care. The highly detailed images they produce help Dr. Perets detect cavities and gum disease in their early stages. At the heart of prevention is finding and treating problems in their earliest stages. This saves you the discomfort and expense of more complex problems down the road, and digital x-rays are the key.
Most dental conditions like cavities and gum disease start inside your teeth or under your gums- places where we can't see with just a visual exam. A digital x-ray shows Dr. Perets any spots of decay or evidence of gum disease in their earliest stages. That way, we can resolve them long before it turns into a toothache!
Another important reason we choose digital x-rays is that we care about your overall safety and well-being. Digital x-rays are safer than older film x-rays because they expose you to about 80 percent less radiation.
The images are digital, so we can store them safely on our secure in-house network. This makes your x-rays easy to access as needed for monitoring or to send to specialists or insurance companies.
When taking your x-rays, we use digital sensors that electronically capture the image. Digital sensors fit comfortably in your mouth because they’re flat, smooth, and have rounded edges. Since they’re easier to position in your mouth, we can get clear images the first time.
Intraoral cameras are awesome! One of the simplest but most important piece of technology Dr. Perets uses is intraoral cameras. They are tiny digital cameras (about the size of an electric toothbrush) that take a picture inside your mouth, allowing you to see exactly what Dr. Perets sees. We share the images with you on your chairside monitor and use them to help explain any dental concerns we see inside your mouth.
When you can see the problem for yourself, you can make more confident decisions about your dental treatment. We save the images in your patient records and can easily retrieve them as needed for reference or to send to insurance companies or specialists.
At Complete Dental Care, we want you to be comfortable. Not many people get excited about getting dental work done, but that doesn’t mean dental work has to be stressful.
If you are so nervous about dental visits that you postpone appointments or avoid them altogether, we can help. Nitrous oxide is a very mild, gentle form of sedation that lasts only for the duration of treatment. It is so mild that we often use it for children who have trouble sitting still.
Nitrous oxide is a gas that’s mixed with oxygen, and you inhale it through a small, comfortable nasal mask. After a few moments, you’ll begin to feel calm, sleepy, and euphoric and experience a deep sense of well-being. Your dental team provides the treatment you need while you relax and the activity around you fades into the background.
At the end of your appointment, we’ll turn off the nitrous and let you breathe pure oxygen for a few moments. The effects of nitrous oxide leave your system quickly so you will leave our dental office feeling refreshed and able to drive yourself home from your appointment. Let us know if you’re nervous or anxious – nitrous oxide is a comforting and calming option at Complete Dental Care!
Digital dental x-rays are invaluable, but sometimes we need to see your entire mouth in one x-ray. A panoramic x-ray is an excellent solution because it shows us your upper and lower jaw, all your teeth, and surrounding bone and tissues. Panoramic x-rays show any infections, tumors, cysts, bone abnormalities and fractures, and impacted teeth. If Dr. Perets suspects any of these problems, he will recommend a panoramic x-ray.
Panoramic x-rays are an important aid when planning dental implants, root canals, orthodontic treatment, and extractions.
TVs in Treatment Rooms
We know that sitting in the dental chair is probably the last place you want to be, so we do everything we can to make your visit with us as pleasant and comfortable as possible. With TVs in all our treatment rooms and the lobby, you or your child can watch your favorite program and forget you are even in a dental chair! Going to the dentist can be a nice escape from day-to-day life.
CBCT Technology: 3D X-rays and Panoramic X-rays
We are so excited to have recently added the CBCT equipment to our office! It allows us to take both 3D X-rays and panoramic X-rays. The images are useful in planning dental implants, doing root canals, and diagnosing infections. We offer top-of-the-line technology to take the best care of our patients.
